BIG BROTHER HAS EVICTED ME!!
A big change will occur next week. After almost 5 months with the team, I will be moving to a new team starting monday next week. I do expect this to happen eventually, but I did not expect it to happen now...What happened was the site was going to implement new and permanent shifts. And we had to apply to get those prefered shifts. The "killer" shift was a Monday- Thursday 2pm-1am shift. Almost everyone on the ops floor will "kill" for that shift. The criteria to secure that shift. however, was tenure and attendance. The team was quite concerned that we might lose our Team Leader due to the fact that he had an almost perfect attendance compared to the other team leads. So the team decided to apply as a team.
However, what happened was quite the opposite. It was me and another teammate who were one of the few chosen ones to be included for that "killer" shift. Not to brag, but I am one of the few people on the operations floor who has an excellent attendance record. Naturally, I should be happy about it. Who wouldn't want to have a shift with Friday, Saturday, and Sunday rest days!! However, I was hesitant to transfer since I was very comfortable with my team, especially now that my Team leader and I had already planned my development in the with the team and with the company. Also, I learned that the people who will comprise the "new" team are top performers and "floorwalkers"(people who acted as refferals for their respected teams). I am not cutting myself short about my abilities and achievements, but based on my stats, I don't think I would match up to them stat-wise. My main concern was that I was going to start from scratch again and that I would need to exert more effort if I was going to compete with my new teammates. On the other hand, I can also see the transfer as a challenge for me to excel with my work. The second point is what I am currently feeling and what I will be looking forward to in the coming weeks...
The sad part is that I will truly miss the team I was with for the past 5 months. We started out as a group of newbies for a new process a few months ago and we ended up as a bunch of lunatics with an excellent working relationship...TO TEAM "COTTAGE A"(a term refering to a center for a drug rehab)..I will definetly miss you guys...For me, its time to move forward and move on...
